How to catch an emu - Video

LET ME TELL YOU A THING

THIS IS A LEGIT THING

THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT PEOPLE DO TO GET EMUS TO COME CLOSE

Apparently you lie on the ground on your back and move your arms and legs.

And the emus are very curious and come over like, “The fuck is that.”

And that’s literally what it is. They come over wondering what the fuck you’re doing

This is one of the most heart stopping videos I have ever seen, and felt the need to share this onto my blog. Terry Tufferson jumped off a cliff (The Manly Jump Rock as it is known) in Sydney Harbour, Australia, and landed right next to a great white shark! All filmed while he wore a GoPro.

HOLY SHIT.

this is scary as hell

fuck that id just start crying.

As far as anyone knew, of course, this guy was a completely responsible gun owner yesterday. You know, the guy who brings his AK-47 everywhere:

A Florida man is facing negligence charges after leaving his loaded AK-47 unattended, resulting in his 6-year-old nephew picking it up and accidentally shooting his grandfather.

According to WSVN, Juan Manuel Martinez Jr., 28, has been charged with culpable negligence of a firearm for not keeping an eye on his loaded AK-47, authorities said.

According to police, Martinez was having a beer with his father, Juan Manuel Martinez Sr., at a family barbeque when talk turned to hunting. Martinez Jr. brought out his AK-47 to share, handing it to his father who then set it on a table.

And the kicker?

Martinez admitted to WSVN that he had been doing drugs and drinking before the accident, saying, “I was smoking marijuana. I was doing cocaine, and I had two beers.”

Martinez called the shooting an accident, saying no one was to blame.

GBA, everyone. GBA — because Americans certainly aren’t.

Quoth the responsible gun owner: “This is a tragic event that occurred. We can’t say it was my fault, it was my nephew’s fault, it was my father’s fault. It’s just a tragic event that occurred. If there was anything I could do to bring him back, God help me I would.”

Right, it’s no one’s fault. Really, technically, the grandfather’s fault for not being the good guy with a gun, right?

The gun owner has already been released from prison.

(Please note that this is a different story from the 3-year-old boy who found a gun in a family friend’s house and shot and killed his 18-month-old brother. That happened three days after this shooting.)

just to be clear - a woman who created a hashtag meant to convey the message “no, not all may be sexual aggressors but yes, all women have experienced sexism to some degree” shut down her account after repeated harassment. she wasn’t generalizing men. she wasn’t making broad, sweeping statements that people claim are the problem with women’s movements. she was only opening a conversation centered around personal stories. what is anyone supposed to take from this except that many people are simply not interested in hearing these stories at all, as sugarcoated as they may be, as tactfully they may be put? not without redirecting the conversation to focus away from women, at any rate.

A woman starts a discussion about how all women are harassed, and people respond by harassing her. There’s no room for irony in the world anymore.

cause we are all drowning in it

USA Tax Dollar Distribution

My husband and I made enough money this year we actually owed more money to the government. I feel very lucky - it’s really hard to complain about having to pay taxes when you lived comfortably for the past year. (Well, really hard for me to complain. Obviously pretty easy for Romney et al to piss and moan about it.)
With all of that said: Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck how much money we spend on the military. Can we flip that with the science and education budget? Pretty please?
